FAQ

How does Dobble maintain quality when repairing or maintaining a website?

Dobble focuses on careful diagnosis, clean technical workmanship and reliable digital foundations rather than quick cosmetic fixes. Website maintenance may include security monitoring, performance optimisation, backups, software updates, uptime monitoring and technical repairs. The exact approach depends on your website, platform, hosting setup, SLA and whether the issue involves Dobble-managed systems or third-party services.

Dobble treats website maintenance and repairs as technical work that affects business continuity, search performance, user experience and security. Quality is not just about making a page look correct again. It is about understanding why the issue happened, fixing it properly where possible, reducing the chance of repeat problems and protecting the wider website environment.

For maintenance work, Dobble focuses on practical technical foundations. This may include software updates, security monitoring, performance optimisation, backup management, uptime monitoring and technical repairs, depending on the client’s service agreement and website setup. The aim is to keep the website secure, fast, functional and available, while being clear about what is and is not within Dobble’s control.

For repairs, Dobble starts with diagnosis rather than guesswork. Common repair work can include malware removal, broken forms, checkout problems, display errors, speed issues, plugin conflicts and database problems. On Dobble-built websites, the team can work within its managed environment and proprietary systems. On third-party or legacy websites, the repair approach may depend on the quality of the existing code, hosting, CMS, plugins, themes and access provided.

In a digital context, the equivalent of materials includes the website platform, codebase, hosting environment, DNS configuration, security tools, backup systems, third-party services and any plugins or integrations involved. Dobble’s own website builds are usually powered by Genesis CMS, its proprietary platform built for performance, security, SEO capability and reduced reliance on third-party plugin stacks. Laravel is used for larger bespoke systems, business applications and complex integrations. Dobble does not position WordPress, Shopify or WooCommerce as current new-build platforms, although it may diagnose or repair issues on third-party or legacy sites where suitable.

Dobble’s workmanship is guided by a practical, technical and search-first approach. Repairs should not create unnecessary bloat, weaken performance or introduce avoidable conflicts. Where possible, work is planned so the fix supports the long-term health of the website, not just the immediate visible symptom. This is especially important where a slow website, broken form, infected site or checkout failure may be affecting enquiries, sales or customer trust.

Quality control may include checking the issue across relevant devices, reviewing security risks, testing affected functions, monitoring performance and confirming that critical website functions are working after changes are made. For larger changes or development-related work, Dobble develops and tests websites and applications in a secure staging environment before deployment where practical, with client review and approval before launch when appropriate.

It is also important to set realistic expectations. No maintenance provider can guarantee that a website will never be hacked, never go offline or never experience a third-party failure. Dobble is responsible for services and systems directly under its control, but third-party providers, registrars, DNS platforms, payment gateways, email services, plugins, APIs, cloud services, client changes and compromised credentials can all affect website reliability or security.

Dobble aims to maintain 99.9% monthly uptime for websites and hosting services managed on its infrastructure, subject to applicable exclusions and SLA terms. This does not mean 100% uptime or uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, third-party outages, client-side issues, DNS propagation, force majeure events, unauthorised changes and systems not managed by Dobble may fall outside that uptime commitment.

For hosting, maintenance, domain and email clients, Dobble provides support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency support is available, with response times typically within 4 hours. If a client is outside an SLA, emergency work is charged on an ad hoc basis, with quotes, predictions or capped timing supplied before work begins where applicable.

Dobble also warrants that its services will be performed with reasonable skill and care in accordance with generally accepted industry standards. For website development defects arising from Dobble’s own work, issues reported during the agreed warranty period, typically 30 days from launch unless otherwise specified, may be corrected at no additional charge. That does not usually cover new functionality, content changes, third-party software issues, browser updates or modifications made by parties other than Dobble.

If you are concerned about the quality, stability or security of your current website, Dobble can assess the issue and recommend whether maintenance, a targeted repair, hosting review, security audit or broader rebuild is the right next step.
