FAQ

What aftercare and handover support is available after my e-commerce website launches?

After launch, Dobble can provide managed hosting, maintenance, technical support, CMS access where appropriate, basic training and ongoing optimisation for e-commerce websites. Handover depends on the project and SLA, but the goal is to keep your store secure, fast and manageable while supporting long-term search visibility, conversion improvement and scalable growth.

Launching an e-commerce website is not the end of the project. For Dobble, launch is the point where the store moves from a controlled staging environment into real commercial use, with customers, transactions, product updates, search engines, hosting, email notifications and third-party systems all working together. That is why aftercare, maintenance and handover are treated as important parts of the overall e-commerce process.

Before launch, Dobble develops and tests websites and applications in a secure staging environment. Where possible, clients can review a password-protected staging website, provide feedback and approve the site before it is deployed. Once approval is given, Dobble performs final testing and manages the live deployment. This may include hosting configuration, DNS coordination, analytics setup, sitemap submission, payment or integration checks, and other launch tasks relevant to the agreed scope.

After launch, support depends on the services included in your proposal or Service Level Agreement. Dobble can provide managed hosting, website maintenance, technical repairs, domain management, email hosting support and ongoing SEO where applicable. For e-commerce stores, this can be especially important because performance, security, checkout functionality, product structure and technical reliability all affect the customer experience. Dobble’s approach is to build stores for search visibility, conversions and scalability, then support them with the right technical foundations after they go live.

Clients who need to update their own store content may be provided with access to Dobble’s proprietary Genesis CMS where appropriate. Access is usually limited to the permissions required to manage approved content areas, such as pages, products or general website content, depending on the build. Permissions are assigned at Dobble’s discretion to help protect the integrity, security and functionality of the website. Where requested, Dobble can also provide basic training and documentation for common content management tasks.

Ongoing maintenance may include monitoring, security checks, technical updates, performance optimisation, backup management and repairs within the agreed scope. If your store is hosted on Dobble-managed infrastructure, Dobble aims to maintain 99.9% monthly uptime for the web server and hosting environment, subject to normal exclusions such as scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, third-party outages, DNS or CDN issues, payment gateway issues, client-side connectivity problems, force majeure events, client changes, third-party software or services not managed directly by Dobble. It should not be interpreted as 100% uptime or uninterrupted operation.

If a defect arises from Dobble’s development work and is reported within the agreed warranty period, typically 30 days from launch unless otherwise specified, it may be corrected at no additional charge. This does not usually cover new functionality, content changes, third-party software issues, browser updates or modifications made by someone other than Dobble. E-commerce websites often rely on payment providers, shipping systems, email platforms, APIs and other third-party services, so Dobble is responsible only for systems and services directly under its control, although it may assist with third-party diagnosis where practical.

For hosting, maintenance, domain and email clients, support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency support is available, with typical response times within 4 hours. If emergency work falls outside an active SLA, it is charged on an ad hoc basis, with quotes, timing predictions or capped timing supplied before work begins where applicable.

Dobble also keeps ownership boundaries clear. Clients retain ownership of content they provide, including logos, branding, text, images and other business assets. Domain ownership remains with the registered client, while Dobble may manage the domain on the client’s behalf. Dobble retains ownership of its proprietary website source code, Genesis CMS software, frameworks, development tools and related intellectual property. If an SLA ends, Dobble may provide a static export of the website for hosting elsewhere, but proprietary CMS software and development files are not transferred.

The best aftercare arrangement depends on how important the store is to your business, how often products or content change, whether SEO is part of the strategy, and what level of support you need.
