FAQ

What domain problems can Dobble help diagnose and manage?

Dobble helps with common domain issues including expired domains, incorrect DNS records, missing email authentication, lost access, fragmented provider setups and migration risks. The process usually starts with a domain and DNS audit, then Dobble configures records, coordinates renewals, aligns DNS with hosting and email, and manages changes carefully to reduce avoidable downtime.

Domain problems can look simple from the outside, but they often affect several parts of a business at once. A single incorrect DNS record can take a website offline, stop emails from sending, break form notifications, interrupt Microsoft 365 mailboxes or affect third-party systems. Dobble treats domain name management as part of a business’s digital foundation, not as a set-and-forget task.

Common domain and DNS problems Dobble can help diagnose include expired domains, missing renewal oversight, incorrect A records, broken CNAME entries, misconfigured MX records, missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC records, SSL/TLS issues, DNS propagation problems and old provider settings that no longer match the current website or email setup.

Another frequent issue is fragmented ownership or access. A domain may have been registered years ago by a former staff member, freelancer or previous agency, leaving the business unsure who controls it. Dobble can review the existing setup, identify where the domain is registered, check DNS hosting, assess access requirements and recommend a practical path to consolidate or correct the configuration where possible.

Dobble’s usual process begins with an audit of the existing domain and DNS environment. This may include checking registrar details, renewal status, nameservers, website records, email records, SSL/TLS configuration and connected third-party services. From there, Dobble can help configure DNS so the domain, website hosting, email hosting and related systems are aligned.

Where email is involved, DNS accuracy is especially important. SPF, DKIM and DMARC records help receiving mail servers verify that messages from the domain are legitimate. Correct authentication can improve deliverability and reduce avoidable spam issues, but it cannot guarantee inbox placement, spam filtering outcomes or uninterrupted email availability because email services depend on third-party providers, sender reputation and recipient mail systems.

Dobble also helps with planned domain, DNS, hosting and email migrations. Before changes are made, existing services are reviewed, backups are taken where possible, the new environment is prepared, and DNS changes are coordinated carefully. This approach is designed to minimise disruption, although temporary interruptions can still occur because of DNS propagation, internet caching, registrar rules or third-party provider behaviour.

For clients with active hosting, SEO or maintenance agreements, domain management is included free. Standalone domain management is charged based on wholesale cost plus a management overhead, with pricing varying by domain extension and registrar. Dobble manages domain registrations on the client’s behalf but does not own the client’s domain. For .au domains, ownership remains with the registered client, subject to the relevant registry and registrar policies.

Dobble uses Cloudflare for DNS infrastructure, DDoS protection and SSL/TLS management where suitable. This supports faster DNS resolution and stronger technical control, but no provider can guarantee that every third-party domain, DNS, registrar or internet issue will be avoided. Dobble is responsible for systems under its control and may provide reasonable assistance with third-party issues where practical.

For business-critical domain, hosting, maintenance and email clients, support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Emergency support is available, with typical response times within 4 hours. Where a client is outside an SLA, emergency work is charged on an ad hoc basis, with quotes, estimates or capped timing supplied before work begins where applicable.

If your domain setup is unclear, your emails are unreliable, your website has gone offline after DNS changes, or you do not know who controls your domain, the safest starting point is a structured domain and DNS review. Dobble can identify the problem, explain the risks in plain English and help put the right management process in place.
