FAQ

What is included in Dobble’s domain name management service?

Dobble’s domain name management covers domain registration support, DNS configuration, renewal monitoring, domain and DNS audits, Cloudflare-based DNS management, migration planning and coordination with website, hosting and email services. Dobble manages domains on the client’s behalf, but the registered client retains ownership of their domain, subject to registrar and registry policies.

Dobble’s domain name management service is designed to protect one of the most important parts of your digital infrastructure: your domain name. Your domain connects your website, email, DNS records, SSL settings and many third-party business systems. If it is mismanaged, expired or incorrectly configured, your website, emails or forms can stop working without warning.

Dobble manages domain registrations on behalf of clients, but does not own client domains. For .au domains, ownership remains with the registered client. This distinction is important because domain management and domain ownership are not the same thing. Dobble’s role is to help keep the domain properly registered, monitored and configured so it supports your website, hosting and email environment.

Domain name management may include secure registration support, renewal monitoring, DNS configuration, DNS propagation checks, registrar coordination and alignment with hosting and email services. Dobble can also carry out domain and DNS audits where a business is unsure who controls the domain, where DNS records are fragmented across providers, or where website and email reliability issues may be linked to domain configuration.

Dobble uses Cloudflare for DNS infrastructure, DDoS protection and SSL/TLS management where suitable. DNS records can include A records, CNAME records, MX records and email authentication records such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC. These records help connect your domain to the right website server, email provider and business tools. Correct DNS setup is especially important when using Microsoft 365 business email, managed hosting or third-party systems that rely on domain verification.

Common inclusions in Dobble’s domain management work include:

  • Domain registration and renewal oversight through accredited third-party registrars
  • Domain and DNS audits for existing setups
  • DNS configuration for websites, email and third-party tools
  • Cloudflare DNS setup and management where appropriate
  • Renewal date tracking to reduce expiry risk
  • DNS propagation monitoring during changes
  • Coordination between domain, hosting and email services
  • Migration planning when moving domains, websites or email services
  • Reasonable assistance diagnosing domain, DNS or registrar-related issues

Dobble’s approach is practical and risk-aware. Before a migration or major DNS change, existing services are reviewed, backups are taken where possible, the new environment is prepared and DNS changes are coordinated carefully. This helps minimise disruption, but temporary interruptions can still occur because DNS propagation, internet caching, registrars, DNS providers and other third-party systems are outside Dobble’s direct control.

Domain management is included free with active hosting, SEO or maintenance service agreements. Standalone domain management is available on a wholesale cost plus management overhead basis, with the final cost depending on the domain extension and registrar. Dobble provides tailored advice based on the domain, current setup and the level of management required.

Dobble cannot guarantee the availability, renewal, transfer or continued ownership of any domain name beyond the rules and policies of the relevant registry or registrar. Domain registrations and renewals remain subject to third-party provider terms. Where practical, Dobble can help diagnose and resolve issues, but third-party delays, policy decisions or account access problems may affect the outcome.

If you are not sure who controls your domain, whether your DNS is configured correctly, or whether your domain is putting your website or email at risk, Dobble can review the setup and recommend the next steps. A domain review is often a sensible starting point before changing hosting, launching a new website or migrating email.
